WHAT data does Vespucci collect from you?

“Personal data” means all information that identifies you directly (such as your name) or indirectly (for example a unique customer number).

The personal data we collect depends on the point of contact you use to communicate with us, as well as the purpose of this interaction as described in this policy, and is also limited to the data that is relevant and appropriate for this interaction. Visitors to the website www.vespuccinederland.nl who view our products, information and offers can choose to do so without logging in, and the same applies to searches at the point of sale and browsing on social media. Unless you communicate with us via one of these points of contact, such as:

  • by creating an account and logging in to it;
  • by making a purchase on our website;
  • by signing up for one of our programmes or services;
  • by contacting us via the customer contact forms;
  • by entering a comment in the free fields for online orders;

or otherwise, our collection of data is limited to the use of “cookies” (visitors) for website visitors, the circumstances of which are specifically defined by our cookie policy and in accordance with your preferences. For the sake of transparency and clarity, our cookie management policy is separate from this general policy. The cookie management policy can be accessed via this link.

Firstly, when customers or others sign up for programmes or services, we need to collect certain relevant information from you. The information we collect relates to a particular transaction, as well as to the context of our business relationship with you. For example, if you make purchases on www.vespuccinederland.nl or at our points of sale, we need to collect information to process your order (and, if necessary, to fulfil and send it), to track and invoice your order and to be able to respond to any questions/requests you may have after your purchase. We generally collect contact information, contact preferences and information from customers and others who sign up for our programmes and services, so that we can advise you about our products or services that you might find interesting. We may centralise this information about our customers so that it is available in one place, because this makes it easier for us to manage your relationship with us, as well as your choices and preferences. Finally, if you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address.

Depending on the data you pass on to us or share with us, personal data may consist of information relating to:

  • Your identity and contact details: surname, first name, postal address, email address, telephone number;
  • Your interests;
  • A history of your purchases (in store or online, including your orders, tracking and invoices, amount and type of purchase) and your repairs;
  • Your requests via our customer service or public relations departments;
  • Events you take part in;
  • Your date of birth, so that you can benefit from the birthday offers you qualify for under your programme;
  • Your satisfaction and comments about our services and products;
  • The information you specify about certain undesirable effects that you would like to report to us;

For your purchases, payments are made via a secure payment platform, supplemented with control methods, including encryption of contact details, so that the security of purchases can be guaranteed and fraud can be combated. Your bank details are therefore not accessible on our servers.

We ask you to ensure that your data is checked regularly for accuracy and updated where necessary, either by changing it directly on our sites, or by informing us in writing of any change using the information in the special section “Contact us”.

  • Digital applications you interact with;
  • Loyalty programmes you can benefit from;
  • Third-party data providers with whom you share information;
  • Satisfaction surveys you have answered;

We make sure we identify the personal data that is essential for the purpose for which it is collected by marking it with an asterisk ‘(*)’ on every personal data form. If you do not fill in these mandatory fields, we cannot respond to your requests and/or provide the services you want. The other information is optional and gives us the opportunity to get to know you better and to improve our communication and services to you. Although it is not mandatory, we recommend that you fill it in, so that you can get the most out of your personal experience during our communication with you.

During your purchasing process you can choose between logging in to your existing Vespucci account, creating a new account or paying as a guest (or so-called “guest checkout”). This last purchasing experience can be summarised as follows:

In accordance with applicable legislation and requirements, Vespucci Nederland B.V. and the companies belonging to its group have implemented measures to guarantee the rights of individuals with regard to the personal data that we (or our third parties) hold about them. This applies, for example, to the right to know what data we hold about you or to obtain a copy of it, as well as limited rights to amend your data, to request deletion of your data or to object to its processing. We advise everyone who has provided data to us to keep it up to date (for example, if you change email address, address or telephone number), so that we can make sure we have your correct information in our files. We also advise customers to update their preferences with us, for example with regard to products and contact frequency, so that we can adapt our services to your expectations and needs. Finally, we offer individuals the right to withdraw their consent to our programmes and offers at any time.
