Cardo Mesh Boost Update: Connect Up to 31 Motorcyclists with DMC

Cardo Mesh Boost Update: DMC Now Supports Up to 31 Motorcyclists

Good news for motorcyclists with a Cardo Packtalk. Cardo has introduced Mesh Boost: a major free update for th de ’s latest-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC). The De update makes communication during group rides easier and more comprehensive.

De Biggest change? With Cardo Mesh Boost, up to 31 motorcyclists can communicate with each other within a single DMC group. Previously, de the limit was 15 participants.

But Cardo does more than just double the group size de . Mesh Boost also introduces Public Mesh, Remote Grouping, new voice commands en , and a completely redesigned intercom interface in de the Cardo Connect app.

In this blog post, we explain what Cardo Mesh Boost is, which Packtalk models support the de update, en and how to use the new features at de .

What is Cardo Mesh Boost?

Cardo Mesh Boost is a software update that further expands Cardo's Dynamic Mesh Communication technology.

DMC is the " de " mesh technology behind, among others, the de , Cardo Packtalk Edge, Neo en , and Pro. Unlike a traditional Bluetooth intercom, de connected communication systems together form a dynamic network.

This offers a major advantage during group rides. If the order within de changes de or someone temporarily falls out of range, the DMC network can adjust itself. As soon as a rider comes back within range, the de connection is automatically restored.

With Mesh Boost, Cardo is building on this technology.

De The most important updates are:

  • DMC groups with up to 31 riders
  • Public Mesh for spontaneous group communication
  • Remote Grouping via a link or QR code
  • de 's Updated Intercom Environment and the Cardo Connect App
  • Manage and switch groups more easily en
  • New DMC Voice Commands
  • Free Over-the-Air Firmware Update

Cardo DMC Expanded from 15 to 31 Riders

De The biggest change in Mesh Boost is immediately apparent: Cardo has increased the maximum DMC group size de from 15 to 31 participants.

This makes Cardo Mesh Boost particularly appealing for larger motorcycle clubs, touring rides, events, motorcycle vacations en , and other group rides.

According to Cardo, DMC’ de ly recognized functionality is preserved. The network dynamically adapts when riders change positions, temporarily go out of range, or reconnect.

So you don't just get a larger group. You continue to use the de Mesh technology that the de Packtalk series is known for.

What is Cardo Public Mesh?

From a practical standpoint, Public Mesh might actually be even more interesting than de 's expansion to 31 riders.

With a standard DMC group, you first have to create a group en and add participants. With Public Mesh, you don't have to do that.

There is:

  • No fixed group required;
  • No invitation required;
  • No pairing sequence required;
  • No group leader or administrator is needed.

Select " Public Mesh" in the Cardo Connect app at de . As soon as other compatible Cardo users come within DMC range en and are also using Public Mesh, de communication will begin automatically.

Public Mesh supports up to 31 participants

Just like a regular Mesh Boost DMC group, Public Mesh supports up to 31 participants.

Furthermore, de preserves DMC's multi-hop operation. De Communication is therefore not simply dependent on a single central rider.

That makes Public Mesh ideal for, for example, motorcycle events, training sessions, organized tours, dealer rides en , and spontaneous rides with other motorcyclists.

You don't have to go through the trouble of connecting all the Cardo devices to each other first. Select "Public Mesh" en —it's much easier to connect while on the go.

Remote Grouping: Set up your Cardo group at home

Anyone who regularly rides with a group of motorcyclists has probably encountered the same problem.

De The motorcycles are ready; everyone wants to leave en . Next, de needs to create an intercom group.

With Cardo Remote Grouping, that's no longer necessary.

Using the de Cardo Connect app, you can create a DMC group in advance. You can then generate an invitation link or QR code that other participants can use to join the de group.

For example, are you planning a ride with eight friends on Sunday? If so, you can create the Cardo group on Saturday evening at de en and share the invitation via WhatsAppde .

When everyone comes within range during de ride, de devices can automatically connect to each other.

Set it lower at de ; park at en ; get your motorcycle ready faster at de .

Cardo Connect App Completely Redesigned for Mesh Boost

Mesh Boost isn't just about new features. Cardo has also redesigned the intercom section ofthe de Cardo Connect app.

This should make creating en and managing groups en easier and more organized.

For example, in the updated de environment, you can, among other things:

  • create a new DMC group;
  • join an existing group;
  • View saved groups;
  • switch between groups;
  • send invitations;
  • Enable Public Mesh.

Cardo's main goal here is to reduce the number of steps required before en during a group ride.

New Cardo DMC Voice Commands

With the firmware update for the de , Cardo is also introducing new voice commands for DMC.

Here are some examples of what you can say:

“Hey Cardo, intercom call”

to participate in the " de " intercom.

Would you like to leave the de intercom? If so, use:

“Hey Cardo, end intercom”

This means you'll have to perform fewer actions via de Cardo itself or the de app while driving.

Which Cardo models support Mesh Boost?

Cardo states that Mesh Boost is available for supported communication systems with second-generation DMC technology.

de -supported models include, among others:

Do you have one of these Cardo systems? If so, check the Cardo Connect app at de to see if both de the latest app version and firmware are available.

Does Cardo Mesh Boost work with de Packtalk Bold, Slim, en , and Black?

Do you have a newer Packtalk yourself, but do your friends still ride with an older Cardo Packtalk Bold, Packtalk Slim, or Packtalk Black?

Then you don't have to remove them from the " de " group right away.

Mesh Boost remains compatible with existing DMC users. This means that older DMC systems can participate in a mixed group.

However, there are some restrictions.

Once older DMC devices are part of a de group, the de group size is limited to a maximum of 15 participants. Additionally, certain advanced Mesh Boost features are not available.

Do you want to take full advantage of Mesh Boost? If so, de participants must have compatible Cardo devices en and the latest firmware.

How do you install Cardo Mesh Boost?

Mesh Boost is available as a free Over-The-Air (OTA) software update for supported devices.

This means you don't have to take your Cardo to a dealer en , and you don't need a new communication system for the de update.

De You can perform the update viathe de Cardo Connect app.

Make sure you:

  1. de Update the Cardo Connect app to the latest version at de ;
  2. connects your Cardo to the de app;
  3. de installs the latest firmware on your device;
  4. de complete the installation.

It's best to do this at home en —not five minutes before you plan to leave with a group.

Please note: Existing DMC groups can be deleted

There is one more important point to keep in mind.

After installing the new firmware from de , the device's existing DMC groups will be deleted. You will then need to recreate these groups.

Fortunately, Remote Grouping has made that a lot easier. Still, we recommend th de n update well in advance of your next group ride.

Why is Cardo Mesh Boost an important update?

On paper, de the move from 15 to 31 riders might seem most interesting for large groups. In de practice, de the biggest improvement, in our opinion, lies in de the combination of all the new features.

Public Mesh makes spontaneous communication easier. Remote Grouping eliminates the hassle before you head out. At the same time, the updated Cardo Connect app ( de ) makes management more organized.

For small groups, this also changes the experience at de .

Do you usually ride with two to four people? If so, the maximum capacity of 31 riders at de probably won't be very useful to you. However, the easier setup en and management of a group can definitely make a difference.

For motorcycle clubs en and large touring groups, de the expansion to 31 participants is, of course, a much bigger step.

Should I buy the Cardo Packtalk Edge, Neo, or Pro?

Would you like to use Cardo Mesh Boost, but don't yet have a compatible Cardo communication system? If so, de Cardo Packtalk Edge, Packtalk Neo, en and Packtalk Pro are some options worth considering.

Which Packtalk is best for you depends on your intended use, budget en nd the features you want.

At Vespucci Netherlands, you’ll find a variety of Cardo communication systems, accessories, en Duo models. We can also help you choose de the right Cardo system for your motorcycle helmet.
