What is a Pinlock?

A Pinlock is an anti-fog insert that you attach to de inside of your visor. By creating an airtight seal between de Pinlock en the visor, vision remains clear - even in cold or rain. The system is designed for motorcyclists who value safety en comfort. No more fogged up visor, just good vision.

What is a Pinlock helmet?

A Pinlock helmet is a motorcycle helmet with a visor that is specially prepared for the use of a Pinlock lens. These visors can be recognized by two small pins on either side of the visor. This is how you click on de Pinlock insert. Brands such as Scorpion, Shark, AGV, Arai en HJC supply most of their helmets with a Pinlock-ready visor as standard.

Please note that with de helmets, a Pinlock insert comes standard in de , but again, there are exceptions. Always inquire carefully which version is included with de .

What Pinlock do you get with your helmet?

Not every helmet comes with the same type of Pinlock. Below is a handy overview:

  • Scorpion EXO-TECH EVO → standard with Pinlock 70
  • Scorpion EXO-TECH EVO Pro & Carbon → standard with Pinlock 120, due to its more luxurious nature
  • Arai SZ-R VAS & SZ-R EVO → standard with high quality Pinlock 120 insert
  • HJC, Shark, AGV → varying, mostly Pinlock 70 (check per model)

ROOF en Pinlock: what about it?

Not all helmets from ROOF are suitable for the use of a Pinlock lens. De models, such as de popular ROOF Boxer, are not Pinlock-ready. However, these visors do have an anti-fog coating, but you cannot insert a separate insert.

Exception: de ROOF RO200 series does come with a Pinlock-ready visor. Here you can even use a high-quality Pinlock 120 in it. So if you are looking for maximum anti-fog protection from ROOF, then de RO200 is your best choice.

De different types: Pinlock 30, 70 en 120

Not every Pinlock is the same. Depending on your type of riding en helmet, choose an appropriate model:

Pinlock 30

De Pinlock 30 is de entry-level version, suitable for urban use en short rides. It provides basic protection against condensation.

Pinlock 70

De most chosen option. De Pinlock 70 offers excellent anti-fog performance en ideal for everyday use en touring.

Pinlock 120

De Pinlock 120 is de top of the line among de . This lens is thicker, more durable en often comes standard with premium helmets.

Self-assembly: Pinlock visor fitting in 4 steps

Mounting a Pinlock visor is easier than you think:

  1. Open the visor completely or detach it from de helmet
  2. Clean the visor on de inside with a soft cloth
  3. Place de Pinlock insert between de pins with de silicone edge facing the visor
  4. Press down so that de insert seals tightly

Tip: some models, such as de Pinlock Scorpion EXO-TECH, require a specific shape en size. So always check carefully that you have de right de !

Will any Pinlock fit any visor?

No. Each helmet en visor have their own appropriate Pinlock type. Always check de specifications or contact our customer service department.

What is the difference between Pinlock 70 en 120?

De Pinlock 120 has a more advanced coating en thicker than de 70. As a result, it provides even better en longer-lasting protection against condensation.

Can I reuse a Pinlock?

Yes, as long as de silicone rim is still in good condition. Is it damaged? Then we recommend replacement.

How do you determine your helmet size?

It is important to choose de correct size for optimal comfort en safety. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Place the tape measure just above your eyebrows en your ears, around the widest part of your head. This is usually 2-3 cm above your eyes.
  2. Pull the measuring tape tight, but not so tight that it becomes uncomfortable.
  3. Compare your head circumference in centimeters with our chart to determine your helmet size.
