AGV Pista GP R3: de New-Generation MotoGP Racing Helmet

AGV introducesthe de Pista GP R3, de the latest evolution of de the iconic Pista GP racing helmet. De The Pista series has been at de the very top of AGV’s product line for years en and is designed for use at the highest level of de motorsports. With de the Pista GP R3, AGV is once again taking a significant step forward, with a particular focus on de protection against rotational forces during an impact.

De The most significant innovation is the new AGV Sphera system with RLS technology. This technology was developed for de MotoGP riders' helmets en to further improve de the way a helmet handles certain forces during a crash.

De de 's successor to the AGV Pista GP series

De Pista GP has been AGV's technological flagship for many years. Many of the innovations in this series come directly fr de racing, where aerodynamics, protection en , and high-speed performance are key.

de 's AGV Pista GP R3 marks a new chapter in this development. AGV describes de R3 as de the latest evolution of de Pista GP en —a helmet designed for the next level in de MotoGP.

De The biggest change AGV has announced so far isn't simply about de the shape or appearance of de a helmet. It's mainly about what happens during an impact.

New: AGV Sphera with RLS technology

In an accident, a helmet doesn't always hit the asphalt perfectly straight. An angled impact can generate rotational forces in addition to direct impact forces. These forces can be transmitted to the head through de helmet.

To better control this particular movement, AGV has developed the new AGV Sphera system for the de Pista GP R3.

Sphera uses RLS: Release Layer System. This system integrates movable external panels into a de . Thanks to micro-bearings, these panels can move in multiple directions.

In the event of an oblique impact, de panels can shift in the de direction of de force en and, if necessary, detach from the de structure. The purpose of this is to dissipate a portion of the de rotational energy before it is transferred to the head.

In simple terms: instead of all movement being transmitted directly through de helmet, part of de outer structure can move in a controlled manner en and release.

Why are rotational forces so important?

Traditionally, when discussing de motorcycle helmet safety, the focus is often on de protection against direct impact. In de practice, however, accidents are much more complex.

When your helmet strikes the asphalt at an angle, de friction between de helmet en and the road surface can cause your head to rotate suddenly. Limiting these rotational forces has therefore become an important part of de the development of modern racing helmets.

With Sphera, AGV is explicitly focusing on this type of impact. De technology was developed for de the extreme conditions in which MotoGP riders compete.

AGV reports a 6-fold reduction in risk in laboratory tests

AGV not only developed the Sphera system but also had it extensively tested. According to AGV,the Pista GP R3 with RLS technology, available at de , showed a six-fold reduction in the calculated risk of concussion during laboratory tests.

It’s important to note, however, that this does not mean that de a helmet can prevent a concussion or that every fall becomes six times safer.

AGV bases this claim on laboratory tests conducted at the Aragon Institute for Engineering Research at the University of Zaragoza ( de ). The tests examined various impact directions en , and the calculated AIS2+ risk of concussion was determined using de the BrIC method.

The result demonstrates, above all, the great attention AGV at de Pista GP R3 has paid to controlling rotational forces.

From Pista GP RR to Pista GP R3

De The AGV Pista GP RR is already one of AGV's most advanced racing helmets ( de ). De This helmet was developed based on the MotoGP model ( de ). en Among other features, it combines a full-carbon outer shell with a very wide field of view, a distinctly aerodynamic shape ( en ), and a design focused entirely on track use.

De Pista GP R3 builds on the de philosophy behind this series, but with Sphera en RLS, it introduces a completely new safety innovation.

It therefore appears that de the transition from de the Pista GP RR to de the Pista GP R3 is primarily focused on further developing de protection against complex impacts.

As soon as AGV de releases the full technical specifications of the production version of the de , it will be possible to make an exact comparison of the changes in areas such as weight, shell construction, aerodynamics, ventilation, visor en , and fit.

Developed for MotoGP

De The Pista GP R3 is no ordinary sports full-face helmet. AGV makes it clear that de new technology has been specifically developed for de MotoGP riders' helmets en for use under extreme racing conditions.

This is consistent with de the way the de Pista series has always been developed. Within AGV, it is de the series where new technology in the areas of safety en racing is first implemented.

De The Pista GP R3 needs to maintain that position.

What do we already know about the de AGV Pista GP R3?

AGV has recently unveiled new safety technology from de Pista GP R3, primarily at de . De Key points that have been officially announced:

  • De The Pista GP R3 is de the latest evolution within de the AGV Pista GP series.
  • De The helmet was developed for the highest level of de racing.
  • De R3 introduces the new AGV Sphera system.
  • Sphera uses RLS (Release Layer System).
  • Movable external panels may shift during an impact.
  • De Panels can be safely detached from the de structure when necessary.
  • The system was developed to limit the de transmission of rotational forces to the head.
  • Based on specific laboratory tests, AGV reports a sixfold reduction in the calculated risk of concussion.

For other technical details, we are intentionally waiting for definitive information from AGV at de .

When will the de AGV Pista GP R3 be released?

AGV hasofficially unveiled the Pista GP R3 de , but has not yet published all the information regarding models, prices en , and availability.

As soon as we learn more about this, we will update this information.

AGV Pista GP R3

De The AGV Pista GP R3 represents de the next generation of AGV’s most extreme racing helmet. The new Sphera system, in particular, makes de the R3 an interesting choice: AGV focuses not only on absorbing impact, but also on what happens when a helmet hits the asphalt at an angle.

For track riders en and fans of de AGV’s most advanced technology, this is definitely a model to keep an eye on at de .

As soon as de the AGV Pista GP R3 becomes available en and AGV de releases the full specifications, you’ll find more information at Vespucci about de the various models, sizes en , and technical features.

How do you determine your helmet size?

It's important to choose de size for optimal comfort en . Follow these simple steps:

  1. Place the measuring tape just above your eyebrows en , around the widest part of your head. This is usually 2–3 cm above your eyes.
  2. Pull the measuring tape taut, but not so tight that it becomes uncomfortable.
  3. Compare your head circumference in centimeters with our chart to determine your helmet size.
